Salem has a parking lot off Newburg Ave. It is marked with a red sign. Our parking lot is open to the community, except on Sunday mornings and special events (weddings, funerals, etc.).
Worship at Salem is a joyful, praise-filled service centered around God's Word and Holy Communion. Saturdays at Salem offer a relaxed, contemporary service with the prayers and order of service projected. Sundays at Salem are bustling with our traditional worship service and choir practice, adult forum, youth group, and Sunday school between services.
You do not have to dress a certain way to come to church - come as you are to worship God!
We have a nursery available down the hall from the sanctuary. Speakers broadcast the service so parents can still tune in.
Salem is handicap accessible with no steps from the parking lot to the chancel and communion railing. There is an automatic door for wheelchair users from the parking lot entrance. There is also an elevator providing access to all 3 levels of the building
Salem provides a limited supply of large-type bulletins for individuals with vision restrictions. Additionally, personal sets of earphones are available to individuals with hearing impairments. Please notify an usher if you require either of these aids.
Yes! You are a child of God. All are welcome. All means all! Jesus invited all people and so do we.
At its heart, everyone is welcome here whether or not they’re an official member. You don’t have to be a member to worship, pray, or participate in most committees.
However, formal membership is a way to publicly say, “This is my church home,” and to take part more fully in its shared life and mission. Members have a voice in shaping the mission and ministry of the congregation. Non-members don’t vote at congregational meetings or hold elected leadership positions.
Members are people who have:
Been baptized (either here or elsewhere)
Publicly affirmed their faith through confirmation or reaffirmation of baptism
Expressed a commitment to the congregation through worship, financial giving, and service
Salem holds membership classes in the fall and spring. Please reach out to the Pastors if you have chosen Salem as your church home.
If you are entering Salem from our parking lot, the sanctuary is down the center hall and to the right. The bathrooms are down the center hall to the left. The nursery is just beyond the bathrooms. Our elevator is down the main hall.
Here is the list and location of Salem's room names:
Please reach out to the church office for more information and church availability.
For music at weddings and funerals, a $150 honorarium to both our Music Director and Tech Manager is expected.
For funerals, pastors do not expect an honorarium for their services. For member weddings, this is an optional gift. For non-member weddings, an honorarium is expected.
Salem's kitchen and hall are available for receptions after events. However, Salem is unable to assist in providing support or meals for the reception.
We offer meeting rooms only to nonprofits. There is no fee for our building use, but donations are appreciated. Please reach out to the church office for more information.
One-time special events are considered on a case by case basis.
